So, I TRI'd it.

I did the Gold Nugget Womens Triathlon yesterday. 500 yd swim. 10 mile bike. 4.1 run.
I lived to tell the tale. ;) I'm so glad I did it! It terrified me into joining the masters swim team, which I'm so grateful for. I love getting out of the house 3 times a week and doing something for myself that I enjoy so much, and is good for me too.
Alex took Conrad to a birthday party yesterday. He managed to wrap the presents, bring the cake I made, bring the special gluten & dairy free cupcakes for Conrad, and get the kid ready. Alex should get a finisher shirt too!

And here's a few of my latest creations for Conrad. Don't ever think that Conrad is deprived! ;) Sure he eats lots of veggies, rice and soy smoothies (a good thing I might add!)... but he still gets one of his favorites! Conrad LOVES cheese pizza. So I made him rice flour crust pizza w/ vegan soy "cheese". He loved it, ate 3 pieces in a row. Also pictured are the chocolate cupcakes I made him- so he wouldn't be left out at the birthday party. :)

I'll end with some lyrics to the "Sunscreen Song" by Baz Luhrman. As I was running over creek bridges yesterday, mountains in the backgrounds, and hearing nothing but my own breath... I kept replaying this song in my head over and over.
