Just a Tuesday...

It's been warming up around here (thankfully!)... Conrad's back to playing outside and happy! He's now on not only a dairy free diet, but gluten free too. It's easier than you think, really. I bought a plain gluten free muffin mix and mixed in bananas and sprinkled them with unrefined brown sugar. Oh. MY. They are sooo good. He wanted one before I even got them in the oven! And when they were done he pulled out the sign for "eat". A first! :)
Here he is playing in the backyard.

What a difference a day makes.

These were taken on Thursday evening. After dinner and bath time we just slipped on rain boots over Conrad's pjs and went back outside. It was such a beautiful, warm, sunny day. Earlier while running errands I wore flips flops and bought sunglasses!

After all the play Conrad fell asleep with his favorite new toy airplane in hand (ps it coincidentally made it's way into the microwave yesterday and Conrad pushed start... yeah.... :P~)

These were taken Friday in our backyard. All our summer fun toys covered in snow. :( We're at sea level (literally, 3 blocks from water) and got 15 inches. People on hillside got even more! To get to swim practice on Sat. morning I had to shovel out my car! I dropped Conrad off at a friends house up on hillside and I couldn't even get into their driveway. The snow was so wet and heavy it cracked two trees in our neighborhood.

Alex arrives home tonight! Hopefully I'll have a few pics to post for you of his trip.

Tuesday...?

Not much new to report around here. :)
My friend TJ's Mama moved here a few months ago from Colorado. She babysat for Conrad tonight so I could go to swim practice. I volunteered for the swim team board and am now the "evening representative" (I swim the with the evening group, there is also a morning team).
Here's a pic of Conrad today diggin' his smoothie. I blended a cup of vanilla soymilk with a mango, banana and ice. Sooo good. Mango and banana are the best for smoothies!
I talked to Alex this evening, he saw whales today. So sounds like he's having an okay time... ha.

Just the two of us.

Alex left today for Hoonah for work, he'll be there until Friday... then he flies to Ketchikan until Sunday. So he's gone for a whole week! He's pretty excited though, he's going to some pretty picturesque places-that actually have hotels and restaurants! :) A lot of the time he travels to villages without even a grocery store and sleeps at their community center. So this is like a vacation for him!
Conrad and I had a nice day in the aftermath of birthdaygate. haha. After returning home from therapy and grocery shopping we found a huge box had arrived from Aunt Robin for Conrad. She wanted me to video him opening the presents, but they didn't turn out (sorry Bean)... but I have lots of pics for her (and you all). He received the most ADORABLE "Duluth Pack" tee shirt with a moose on it. LOVE it... Spiderman goodies galore (water bottle, tattoos, ball), a caterpillar shaped SPRINKLER (so neat), a Cars coloring pack, and lots of fun Diego toys for outside. Conrad and I played in the backyard with the sidewalk chalk and sand toys for a lot of the evening. Thanks Robin! After dinner I used our present to Conrad for the first time. It was a present for ourself too! We bought the bike carrier attachment for his stroller. So we busted out the helmets and went for our first bike ride of the year! It was so nice out.

Happy 3rd Birthday Conrad Jude!

(...and of course, Happy 25th Birthday to my bestest brother Kiel!) and! didjya hear? Kiel proposed to Alicia this week while in Mexico. My baby brother is ENGAGED!

Today we had Conrad's birthday party! It was so nice out we grilled reindeer dogs and the kids played outside! Conrad received lots of great gifts... play-doh pack (loves it!), puzzles, books, airplane (he LOVES airplanes!), etc. Our wonderful friends brought baked beans and fruit salad and stuff for our spread. I'm so appreciative.

Power to the Peaceful!

Last night Alex and I saw Michael Franti & Spearhead at the Bear Tooth Theater. It was amazing and probably the best and most... well, powerful show I've ever been to! I loved him!

Today we went to a coworker of Alex's wedding at Hilltop Ski Area. It was such a sweet wedding.

Today I baked Conrad's birthday cake. Here's a pic of Conrad licking the batter. I guess by being a former cake decorator I signed up for a lifetime of cake decorating enslavement to my family. We have a busy weekend going on so I suggested just buying cake, to Alex's horror. So I am decorating it, but I totally bought a mix! ;) I found a vegan mix, perfect for Con's dairy allergy, by Cherrybrook Kitchen. SO yummy.

April Snowfalls.

Things are crazy busy around here as usual! We've been painting Conrad's room and dresser, and cleaning up around here for his birthday party this weekend. THREE, can you believe it?
We had a good weekend. Alex went to Girdwood for a show with friends and went skiing. I took Conrad to the pool, which he didn't enjoy actually. Usually he's such a fish, but he clung to me this time. He's great though of course, he took a class at the gym today... "Cardio Kids"-he had a blast!!
I'll be sure to post after this weekend. We'll have lots of pics! Alex and I are going to a show Friday (Michael Franti!!), a wedding Saturday, then Sunday is Conrad's birthday!
Some pics.
Conrad got new big boy underpants. He LOVES THEM. But, of course, is not using them for their intended purpose. Here he is last night wearing two pairs, over a diaper... he slept wearing three. Seriously.

Conrad enjoying his new video (Tom & Jerry) from Grandma and Grandpa Thiel. He got a big box of presents from them today. Puzzle, Diego pack, a kite, book, etc. He's in heaven!
